Used car buyer guides

Used SUVs with a third row (seats 7+)

Three-row options in our dataset are the Highlander, Pilot, Explorer, Sorento and 4Runner (third row on some trims), plus the Odyssey, Sienna and Pacifica minivans. Minivans usually give the most usable third row; check the seat count on the exact trim.

From our model dataset: years, body, seating, drivetrain and hybrid availability checked against fueleconomy.gov and NHTSA. No prices or reliability scores: those change by year, mileage and market, and we won't guess them.

Seating varies by trim and year (some have 2nd-row captain's chairs and seat 7 instead of 8). Confirm on the window sticker or the VIN decode in Check a Car.

Example: with an $25,000 out-the-door budget, 8% sales tax and about $600 in doc and registration fees, the highest listing price that fits is $22,592.59 ($25,000 − $600, then ÷ 1.08). Use the calculator with your own state's numbers.
